At first it seemed like Gmail’s new Priority Inbox wouldn’t be of much help to me since I have already set tons of filters that help me sort my incoming emails out into folders, skipping inbox, etc… But I had to try it out anyway, just out of curiosity.

No need to go into details since the video explains it pretty well, but so far it’s definitely something I’m going to use as it presents your emails in a very useful way. You can even customize it to suit your preferences.

Additionally to the fact it keeps my most important emails on top, I like the fact all my starred emails stay on the first page too.

Another great idea from the Gmail team.

I immediately followed the “what’s new” link to read more about it. They’ve moved a few things around to improve the navigation and usability but most of all they’ve made huge changes to the Contact section. I find this new Contact page much clearer, as you can have a overall look at your contact’s primary email and phone number at once, without having to click your contacts one by one to view their details. New Find duplicates and merge and Auto-save functions, along with lots of small others new additions, make the contact section pretty sweet.

It’s still the same old Google look-and-feel but the result adds a clean and a bit more modern touch to their interface.

Oh, and have you notice the way the google search homepage appears? First, appears the search bar overlooked by their famous always-changing illustration, then as soon as you move the mouse, the rest fades in. Very nice effect.

The video sums it up pretty well: through it’s camera, Google goggles transforms your smart phone into a hand-held Optical Character Recognition device. But more than just a simple OCR, it can as well recognize paintings and book covers and even places you’re pointing at, using your camera coupled with your phone’s GPS. Pretty clever, isn’t it?

It’s pretty funny to read all the comments underneath the video. I agree certain people might get confused when it comes to the speed of their internet browser. People should be aware of the difference between “rendering time” (depending on the rendering engine of the web browser) and page “loading time” (depending on the internet connection).

Personally, I can not use Chrome since my OS is “not supported”. Google Chrome only runs on OS X 10.5 or later. Furthermore, I’m working on a PowerPC MAC and Chrome is only for Intel MAC as for almost all the new softwares coming out lately. D*mn *t!

All I can do is watch this video and wait until I buy a brand new MAC. (Un)fortunaltely, my MAC is around 7 years old and is still running like a charm! Why would I change it?

I know spamming through blog comments is common but what surprises me on this one is why even bother sending spam in that cyrillic alphabet we can’t even decipher?

I’m not at all familiar with spamming softwares, but can’t they just restrain their spam flow to russian speaking websites, with .ru domain name or other geo-localisation technique that would leave us “russian spam”-free?

All I needed was a spam blocker and I just installed a spam blocker plugin called WP-SpamFree they’ve been advertising on WordPress’ Dashboard. We’ll see how it can handle that russian junk.

Hit GO and a pop up window shows up. There you can check your Trophy Stats by game title and you can compare with other users (provided you know their online ID).
