They just keep coming and coming… Within the last 2 weeks, I’ve literally had tons of russian spam comments on my WordPress blog. It’s been triggered by that post I did about that Adobe Air application called Skimmer (it might mean something in russian).
I know spamming through blog comments is common but what surprises me on this one is why even bother sending spam in that cyrillic alphabet we can’t even decipher?
I’m not at all familiar with spamming softwares, but can’t they just restrain their spam flow to russian speaking websites, with .ru domain name or other geo-localisation technique that would leave us “russian spam”-free?
All I needed was a spam blocker and I just installed a spam blocker plugin called WP-SpamFree they’ve been advertising on WordPress’ Dashboard. We’ll see how it can handle that russian junk.
