Google Chrome WTF?!?

After litterally waiting for years, Google finally launches a Beta version of Chrome for Mac. Hurray! As a web-designer, I’m always interested in new browsers and I’ve been using the Windows‘ version of Google Chrome for a while back in my office time in London.

After waiting all this time, I must admit I lost my interest for Google Chrome since I’m now proudly enjoying Safari 4. However I decide to download Chrome anyway to have a look at it, out of curiosity, see how it’s running on a Mac. That’s when I had a surprise while trying to launch it!

Google Chrome: Wrong version of Mac OSX

I cannot use the application “Google Chrome.app” with this version of Mac OS X? What? Why? What’s happening? I went back to Google Chrome‘s downlading page… and noticed the specs recommendations (you know, those small prints below the big download button).

For Mac OS X 105 or later! Google Chrome‘s not just a software, it’s a browser. Why the hell would they limit it to 10.5 or later, only?

In fact, I’ve been disapointed so much lately, it doesn’t surprise me more than that. More and more new software versions are now only available for OS X 10.5 or later on Intel Macs. Right now, I can’t afford upgrading to Snow Leopard and even less buying a new Intel G5. What should I do?
